Teradata reveals its new San Diego headquarters

Oct 09, 2018 - Sarah Lubeck

Teradata might be one of the biggest tech companies you've never heard of…until now.  This week, the tech company officially opened its new San Diego headquarters, revealing a reimagined brand and more than 65k sq ft. of renovated, state-of-the art facilities.

The 40-year old company's journey started as a data storage warehouse, and has evolved to become a data analytics leader that transforms how businesses work and how people live through the power of data. As part of this evolution, Teradata shifted its headquarters from Dayton, Ohio to San Diego to tap into UC San Diego's talent pool and the growing tech community here.

"San Diego represents one of the best places to work and live in the country, and its growing innovation economy means more tech companies are calling the region their home," said Martyn Etherington, Teradata's Chief Marketing Officer. "This is creating a place of tremendous energy and excitement that we wanted to tap into. Teradata is excited to bring our global headquarters to San Diego, where we will be investing in the local community and growing our global operations."

So what exactly is it like to work at  Teradata?
The company approached its revamped headquarters much like its other projects: by making sure employees had input, and that they were fostering an environment that promoted innovation and problem solving. In its new 'building c', you will find an 8k+ sq ft gym with a cycling and pilates studio, game spaces, tons of open concept brainstorming space, and, like any on-brand San Diego office, a fully-stocked juice bar.

Teradata has numerous break rooms throughout the floor for prime relaxation and collaboration with colleagues.

In addition to a killer work space, employees get four paid days off each year to ensure that they can volunteer throughout the San Diego community.
